Wild Wadi is a great place to visit especially if you’re staying in any of the Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts in Dubai as full complimentary access is included in your stay.
We were whisked from our Summerhouse to the water park’s “VIP” entrance for 10am (opening time) and managed to beat the crowds to all the big rides; Tantrum Alley, Burj Surj and Jumeirah Sceirah – which is probably the most scariest / exciting water slide I’ve ever been on. The concept is quite simple; you’re put inside a capsule, you’re put through a terrifying launch sequence and before you know it the floor beneath you has gone and you’re free falling through 120 metres of tube! Still struggling to imagine it, check this out! It’s all over in a matter of seconds but take it from me, if you’re going to take a trip down Jumeirah Sceirah, don’t do it straight after breakfast!
Following the adrenaline rush we took things a little easier and headed for the Master Blasters. A series of high-powered water jets take you on an aquatic roller coaster ride, in theory. The only problem was that the “high-powered water jets” weren’t high powered enough to get us up the first steep section – apparently the water pressure “wasn’t quite right”…so nothing to do with that huge breakfast I’d had then?!
