I think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been a year like no other…
The pandemic is likely to be one of the biggest challenges that many businesses ever face, however it will not be the first time businesses have to overcome challenges, nor will it be the last.
Whilst the impact of the pandemic has been largely negative, businesses have demonstrated common positives such as resilience, innovation, and openness to change. I genuinely believe J-Flex has done this too – temporarily operating with reduced numbers during lockdown, developing and introducing specialist new products, and effortlessly adapting to the so-called “new normal” and embracing remote working (something we’ve never done before).
The pandemic is likely to be one of the biggest challenges that many businesses ever face, however it will not be the first time businesses have to overcome challenges, nor will it be the last. J-Flex is no different in that respect, overcoming various challenges in its 36-year history by remaining focussed on what is most important to us: our colleagues, customers, and communities.
Our colleagues deserve high praise in particular this year. Despite the general anxiety and uncertainty, their hard work, dedication, patience, and understanding has been first-class, and I cannot thank them enough for that.
I’d also like to pay tribute to our loyal customers who continue to place their trust and valuable business with us. We recognise that there may still be obstacles to navigate in the coming weeks, however we are 100% committed to supporting you and your business throughout.
The combined efforts of our colleagues and customers allow us to support our communities, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to make small donations to Bassetlaw Hospice and Babworth Rovers Football Club in 2020.
Although I’m cautiously optimistic about the future, I don’t have a crystal ball and the prolonged impact of the
pandemic, coupled with Brexit, make it difficult to make firm statements about 2021. All we can do is ‘control the controllables’ and focus on items that we – at J-Flex – can influence. Namely, providing world-class: products, value, and customer service.
So as we approach the festive season and reflect on one of the most challenging years ever, remember this; you’re not alone (this has impacted EVERY business), control the controllables (seriously, what’s the point in getting uptight about things you have little or no control over?!) and if it feels like nobody is listening…you’re probably on mute!
